"Located just south of Seattle’s famed Pike Place Market, this 20-year-old store offers quilt fabrics extraordinaire, as well as finished quilts for sale by local artisans. With a clientele comprised of about 50% tourists, there is emphasis on Northwest-themed fabrics and kits. The store is filled with brightly colored samples and fun fabrics. Included in the window display–quilted relief maps of the northwest Washington area done by a local artist [Mary Downes]." EXPLORATIONS IN QUILTING AND LIFE "I was lucky to be passing through Seattle last week and had time to stop at my absolute favorite fabric store there – Undercover Quilts. The owner, Linda Hitchcock, has the most wonderful taste in selecting fabrics for her store. I look forward to visiting her store and replenishing my stash of batiks while seeing all the latest fabric. Linda has the most wonderful selection of kits too…. I have a very strict rule when I am traveling that I never check a bag. I have been forced more than once to ship home my purchase as I can get carried away with what I buy in the store." ~ Explorations in Quilting and Life Blogger Judy Warner |
